Time Management Tips

When "Making the Most of Your Time" there are some important things you will need to keep in mind:

1. Make sure you have a plan.
Whether you use a to-do list or a post-it pad, make sure you create a way to complete everything you want to do in a focused manner.

2. Life is filled with many stressors.
Don't let stress get in the way of what you can accomplish in a day. Learn how to shake stress off easily and quickly. There are many things you can do: breathing exercises, taking a quick walk, and making sure you have alone time to just relax all make a big difference in your day and how effectively you can perform.

3. If you have an office or while you are at home, shut your door.
Sometimes, you need your mind completely focused on a task. Boundaries are crucial to your well-being and your ability to do your very best. Close your door when you need to and respect your needs.

4. For everything in your life, do not delay.
If you can get it done right now, get it done right now. The longer you wait, the longer your list of "to-do's" becomes adding to your stress level.

5. Be assertive.
If you need to say "no" to something do not feel bad about it. In order to prioritize anything in your life, you need to be able to say no. If you don't place priority value on certain tasks everything will become equally important and you will not know where to focus your energy, making it more difficult to complete anything.
